Rory Gallagher's influence on rock music is everlasting. The Band of Friends keeps his memory alive by bringing hits like " Bad Penny " and " I Fall Apart " to life in stirring shows. Originally Gallagher's backing band, the Band of Friends is more as a tribute group. Bassist Gerry McAvoy and drummer Ted McKenna accompanied the master on countless stage appearances.

After Gallagher's death, they set out to celebrate his legacy. With Marcel Scherpenzeel, they have completed the perfect trio to faithfully revive his sound. Several awards testify to their talent. To mark the 25th anniversary of Rory Gallagher's death, the line-up of the Band Of Friends is also undergoing a change. Gerry McAvoy on bass and Brendan O'Neill on drums are being reinforced by two guitarists. Paul Rose and Jim Kirkpatrick will be playing the complete work with the two original members. celebrate in a well-known passionate manner.

Gerry Mcvoy played with Rory Gallagher from 1971-1991 and founded the Band Of Friends in 2012. He is accompanied on drums by Brendan O'Neill. He also played with Rory Gallagher (1981-1991) and later joined the British R&B band Nine Below Zero at.

The two new band members are also passionate Rory Gallagher fans. Paul Rose was personally selected by Rory Gallagher as the winner of a competition organized by Fender from among 1,000 guitarists and has been named “Best UK guitarist” twice in a row!

Singer and guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick is considered one of England's best slide, blues and rock guitarists. Since 2008 he has been the lead guitarist of the legendary British classic rock band FM. Recently he has recorded a new album with several members of R. Gallagher worked on a tribute to the legendary Irish guitarist and has now found his way to the Band Of Friends.

In the meantime, the Band Of Friends also releases their own albums, which are a consistent development of Rory Gallagher's music.
